Lots of Literacy Happening During Support Squads

2/08/2013
Fun AND learning in literacy groups
Morning sessions at Lawnton State School focus on literacy. This includes reading, comprehension, writing, handwriting, spelling and studying English language and literature. Through our support squad system, every student has the opportunity, every day, to learn reading and comprehension strategies in small, ability levelled groups. This gives students frequent opportunities to improve their reading skill and attain personal goals they have set for themselves in literacy. Every day (Monday to Thursday) a 'Squad' of 3 or 4 teachers, teacher aides and volunteers, go to each and every classroom to assist. Our amazing teachers, teacher aides and volunteers work with small groups of students on fun and engaging educational activities.
