Lawnton State School continues to implement the Australian Curriculum. The Australian Curriculum is a national curriculum, specifying curriculum content and achievement standards for students in years Prep (foundation) to Year 10. In each of these subject area's students are working towards a National Achievement Standard by the end of the year as published on the Australian Curriculum website.
Our whole school focus continues to be providing intervention and support, improving student outcomes in reading. Through our whole school approach to reading, we continue to align current, evidence-based practices to improve outcomes for our learners. Identified Student may receive targeted intervention to support their progress in reading through repetitive, small group explicit reading instruction with our inclusive learning teachers and teacher aides to support their ongoing progress.
