Enrolment management plan
Our school has an enrolment management plan External link. Please, check the catchment map External link to ensure that you are eligible for enrolment at Lawnton State School. Students residing within the schools’ catchment area are welcome to enrol at our school at anytime. Parents wishing to enrol students who are living outside of the catchment area should contact the school's office to check their eligibility in consideration of the school's enrolment plan.
New enrolments school interview
We believe that a successful start to your child's educational journey begins with a warm welcome and a supportive partnership between our school and your family. To ensure a smooth enrollment process, we conduct enrollment interviews for each newly enrolled child and their family. Here are some important details:
Scheduling Your Appointment
To schedule an enrollment interview, please contact our school office between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. We'll find a convenient time for you to visit and learn more about Lawnton State School.
What to Bring to the Interview
On the day of the interview, please bring the following documents:
Completed Enrollment Booklet
Ensure you have the enrollment booklet filled out with all the necessary information.
Birth Certificate or Passport
We'll need either a birth certificate or passport as proof of your child's date of birth.
Current Proof of Residency
Please provide current proof of your residency, which helps us determine your eligibility for enrollment.
Visa Subclass (for International Students)
If you're from another country, we will require proof of your visa subclass. Some international students may need additional documentation from Education Queensland International.
What to Expect in the Interview
During the interview, we'll discuss what Lawnton State School has to offer and our expectations for our students. This is also an excellent opportunity for parents to share any concerns they may have about their children. Your input is valuable, and it helps us tailor our support to meet your child's specific needs. We will also inform the teacher of any concerns raised, ensuring that they are well-prepared to provide the best support.

As a part of the enrollment process, the interview often includes a guided tour of the school. We want you to feel comfortable and familiar with our school environment, so you can witness firsthand the learning spaces and facilities available to your child.
