Student Resource Scheme Curriculum

Lawnton provides a Student Resource Scheme Curriculum to assist with efficiency and cost effectiveness of providing students with exactly the right resources to support their learning within the classroom. The Student Resource Scheme Curriculum applies to all students.

A once yearly payment of $160.00 allows your child to access all required resources within the classroom including books, pencils, erasers, handwriting books, Mathletics subscription (usually $99.00 per child independent of the school), Reading Eggs subscription (Prep-Yr2), textbooks, glue, scissors, crayons, felt pens, rulers, staplers, paint, paintbrushes - and a whole lot more! The scheme avoids parents having to shop for and replace specific requirements. Outside of the scheme all you will be responsible for is organising you child's bag, lunch box, uniforms, hat, library bag (Years P-3) or memory stick (Years 4-6).

ICT Immersion Program

We know that technology today plays a large role in most occupations and professions, both now and into the future. We know the importance of teaching our students to become global citizens and to be leaders in an ever-changing and ever-evolving world.

In order to equip our students with the best ICT skills possible, we are offering our 'ICT Immersion Program' where students will have 1:1 access to a device. Years 1 - 3 will utilise iPads and Years 4 - 6 will continue to access a laptop in the classroom and use this as a tool for learning.

Students who participate in this program will use a suite of software, apps and tools to access the Australian Curriculum at their year level. There may be additional extension activities specific to the differentiated needs of each and every student as per a non-immersion classroom.

Devices will remain at school and will be managed through the school's network. All software, anti-virus protection, maintenance and upkeep costs will be managed by the school. Students will be responsible for the care of their specific device under the guidance of their classroom teacher. Those students who participate in the program will still access other key learning areas in regards to the curriculum, and those students who do not participate in the program will still access the school's ICT resources as standard.

This is an optional program, and all carers/students are able to apply via an expression of interest form. Student selection and participation will be based on suitability selection criteria. There is a cost per term subscription fee for students, as outlined in the expression of interest, and this is inclusive of all costs.
